The Bulldogs Begin to Move On

After recovering from the disappointment that occurred last week, many of the Bulldogs are relaxing and focusing on school, while a few others get excited for their next big adventure.

Seniors, Alexis Mazzeo and Zenee Gadson, as well as sophomore, Rachal Toppi, are not just involved in playing hockey for their high school team. Alexis and Rachal both play for the South Jersey Edge U19 team and Zenee plays for the Del Val Destroyers (sadly, this was the most information I could provide about this team).  Other girls are involved in South Jersey Edge in particular, but these three in particular are the only girls going with the club to USA Field Hockey’s largest field hockey festival event: the 2011 USAFH National Field Hockey Festival. Over 3,500 athletes are set to attend this festival and many field hockey clubs from different areas across the U.S. and other regions have, in the past, been wait-listed in hopes of having a spot in the festival.

These two edge teams however, were chosen to attend. On November 24th-27th, these three Bulldogs will travel with their respected teams to Phoenix, Arizona to attend the festival. I would like to encourage any family members that are going to the festival with any of these three girls to email me any pictures you take while you’re there. Since I can’t be there myself obviously, I’d love to post your photos or any updates you have from the festival.

Though the blow from the loss in the NJSIAA Playoff Semifinals was heavy, the Bulldogs took the time they needed to repair themselves and are ready to take their game to the next level. Everyone knows that field hockey girl’s season is every season. Preparation never ends.
